This yarn is dyed-to-order. Please allow up to 4 weeks for shipment.
Katatomic Gradient is available on 2 different bases - Sturdy Sock and Lovely Fingering Weight. The Katatomic colorway is also available as Variegated and Watercolor Stripes. See my other dyed-to-order listings for more information.
1) Sturdy Sock is a 3-ply, 75% washable wool/25% nylon heavy fingering weight yarn. The yarn is wound in to two matching 50 gram cakes for a total of 100 grams and 380 yards. This option is best for socks or matching fingerless mitts.
2) Lovely Fingering Weight is a 4-ply, 75% superwash merino/25% nylon, 100 gram, 460 yard, fingering weight yarn. The color does not repeat in this single 100 gram ball.
The fingerless mitt in the example picture is knit from a 50 gram skein of Clever Girl. The shawl is the TGV shawl by Susan Ashcroft in the Define Grellow colorway and is knit from a 100 gram gradient. This option is best for shawls, scarves, and garments.
Hand wash separately in cold water with an unscented wool wash; lay flat to dry. Every hank is hand painted individually, not in a dye lot. Please allow some minor differences between hanks. Your yarn will arrived caked up and ready to knit. Your cake of yarn may be wound in opposite color order than pictured. See the FAQ on my website, www.dyeabolicalyarns.com for more information about hand dyed yarn.
The Gradients are a collection of new colorways that I am testing out this year. These may become part of the regular line up at a later time, but for now they are limited editions.
